Rotary Wine Tasting

2009

The Rotary Club of Key Biscayne Foundation hosted the 5th Annual Key

Biscayne Wine, Food & Silent Auction.  The 2009 event featured an

extraordinary tasting of "California's Best Limited Production."   More

than 18 boutique wineries poured artisan, vineyard-designated wines made

in single barrels from superior appellations.  The event provided a rare

opportunity for wine enthusiasts to sample and purchase a selection of

limited production wineries at a single wine tasting event.  Independent

judges conducted a blind tasting and awarded "best of the best"

recognition to the 2005 Black Coyote Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve.

The top six finalist wines were:

2005 Black Coyote Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve (Winner of the "Best of the

Best" Award)

2007 Ellman Family Vineyards Jemma, Napa Valley Red Wine;

2007 SUNBOX Eleven Winery The Muse Petite Sirah, Eaglepoint Ranch,

Mendocino

2008 Robeldo Family Vineyards Pinot Noir, Carneros

2005 Deerfield Ranch Winery Red Rex Blend

2007 Wine Guerilla Wines Goat Trek Old Vine Zinfandel, Dry Creek Valley

We thank the Key Biscayne community and our corporate sponsors for

supporting this event.  We appreciate your patronage and hope to see you

next year.  Full details at www.keybiscaynewinefest.com

The wineries extended the deadline to submit wine orders to all the members of the affiliated organizations.  They will honor event prices on any orders through this Friday 11/20/09.  I will be directing all members of Rotary, ARC and Manos del Sur to look up the ratings/prices so no one misses out.
